Congress High command is seriously reviewing the situation arising out of the conviction of State Education Minister Mr. Parthasarathy. Mr. Ahmed Patel, Political Advisor to Ms. Sonia Ganthi had a telephonic conversation with Mr. Botsa Satyanarayana, State Congress President on this issue. Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Health Minister and Incharge of Andhra Pradesh affairs had declared that he would take a decision after consulting Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, CM of AP.
Six Ministers of Government of Andhra Pradesh have received notices from Supreme Court and one Minister is already in jail. Mr. Parthasarathy has been convicted in the violation of Foreign Exchange Regulations Act case by a local court.
Mr. Ahmed Patel has sought a detailed report against the convicted Minister from AP Congress President. On the other hand, Mr. Azad is angry with CM for not giving information about this case. Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy first consulted Advocate General and then he called the Education Minister to his camp office in the evening. A section of Congress Party is against dismissing the minister. They contend that already one minister is in jail and six ministers have received notices from the Supreme Court. If resignation is sought from another minister, Government will get a bad name and opposition will get an opportunity to open a front against the Government.
When mediamen asked Mr. Azad in New Delhi, he told them that he was busy yesterday and therefore he couldn’t talk to CM of AP. He said that after talking to CM, he would decide about retaining the convicted minister in the cabinet or seeking resignation from him.
