Hyderabad, September 11 (Siasat News): The Acting Chief Minister K Roshaih has been declared the full fledged Chief Minister by the Congress Party High Command.
Eight Ministers of the Cabinet have issued a statement addressing a Press Conference that they acknowledge and recognize K.Roshaia as the Chief Minister. They abide and stand by the Party High Command’s decision. Along with the Urdu Daily Siasat, other Local Dailies had reported that the whole cabinet stands by and fully supports Mr. K Rosaiah as the Chief Minister. The state Congress party leader KVP Ramchander along with Mr. Verrappa Moily, in charge of the State Congress Party affairs conveyed the displeasure of the Party President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi over the disturbances from certain quarters and lobbies. , and asked them to fully cooperate with the CM K. Roshiah. Eight Ministers including K. Laxminarayan, Suridhar Babu, M. Venkat Ramanna, Viswarup, A Narayan Reddy etc, issued a press statement at the party office that they fully endorse and support the CM K . Roshiah.
They said the Assembly and the Cabinet along with the whole State is still steeped in gloom and grief after the sudden accidental death of the popular leader Dr. YSR Rajashekhara Reddy. Most of them are still under shock and disbelief and cannot come to terms with the reality that their beloved YSR is no more.
A seven day state mourning has been declared in the State and condolence meetings are held in various parts of the state and due respects and homage are being paid to the departed leader. In fact the whole the state is still to recover from the shock of the sudden tragedy.
All the Ministers and party workers expressed and extended their full support and cooperation to the Chief Minister K . Roshiah. The late Chief Minister Dr.YSR Rajashekhara Reddy ,they said, “ used to look upon K. Roshiah as his Big Brother and turned to him for advice and guidance. How could anybody deny or overlook it.”
Later in the Secretariat , in Mr. K Roshiah’s chamber a meeting was held to take stock of the law and order situation in the city and the state in which the Home Minister Smt. Savita Indira Reddy participated.
The alarming issue of Swine Flu and other Health related issues were discussed in the meeting along with the Health Minister D. Nagender. The Water supply issue in various parts of the city and state was taken up with P Laxmiah who expressed concern over the water problem faced by various parts of the city.
Later the Minister for Municipality and City Develpement Mr. Ram Narayana Reddy said at the party office that, “ after the death of the Dr. Reddy on 2nd September, Mr. K Roshaih was sworn in as the Chief Minister with due constitutional rights and procedures and all the Ministers and Assembly members had fully extended their cooperation and support to him.” He went on to state that “ there is no provision of an Acting Chief Minister in the Constitution. We have left the decision of the choice of the Chief Minister to the party high command and we shall full abide by it.”
When asked about the survey and report of a local TV channel, he said, “the TV channel had done the survey on its own and the party had no hand in it at all. In a democracy the Government is accountable to the people and no compromise could be done regarding the interest and service of the common people.” Regarding the influx of the congress party supporters into the city from various parts of state he said, “ the Party leadership had never called them in the first place, the people had come on their own.”
