Congress has no role in CBI probe: CM

Speaking in the road shows, Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that neither the Congress nor his government had anything to do with the CBI inquiry into Jagan’s assets or his arrest. He said Jagan’s mother Vijayamma and other family members were blaming the Congress only for electoral benefits. He reminded the people that CBI started the investigation on the directions of the High Court and not the Congress. He said that when Dr Rajasekhara Reddy ordered a CBI probe when Jagan faced murder charge, Jagan and all others had then appreciated the CBI as it had cleared Jagan of the charge. They are now alleging that CBI was acting under the directions of the Congress party because it found that Jagan had committed economic offences.

Referring to the allegation of Vijayamma that welfare schemes introduced by her late husband were stopped, the CM asked her to name one scheme that was stopped by his government. “What sacrifice Jagan has made? Why has he gone to jail? Is it because he fought for the farmers or labourers or youth or the SCs or STs or the scholarships of the poor? He was dumped in the jail because he had committed severe economic crimes to amass wealth illegallyt”, the CM pointed out.

Stating that Congress candidate Magunta Parvathamma was a service-minded person, he appealed to the people to vote for her. He told the people to think about the plight of those who lost their lands for the Vanpic project. Many villages were given away to the Vanpic company so that Jagan could benefit, he pointed out.
