Congress has fielded a candidate who is yet to come out of childhood: Modi

Launching a direct attack on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the one hand where his party was trying to take up serious issues for discussions, the Congress has fielded such candidates who are yet to come out of their childhood.

“I was thinking, that in the coming elections there will be debates on serious issues, but it unfortunate that on one side BJP leaders is taking up issues of development for discussion, but on the other hand such a player has come in the field who is still not able to forget his childhood,” said Modi.

“He keeps using the work gubbara (balloon) like a kid. He kept using the same word for ten days. Now that he is bored of his balloon, he has started asking for toffees,” he said.

“Now, it is for the people to decide if they want such a leader, and, if they too want to play with balloons and toffees. May be a toffee might make him happy, but I come from such a background where I did not even get a chance to have toffees in my childhood. I sold tea in train coaches and made money to survive,” he added.

He further said that only one family in the whole country was responsible for ruining the country in the last ten years.

“Today, I watched in the television that the book by Sanjay Baru has upset the prime minister’s family. The PM’s daughter said that Baru was a betrayer, which means whatever he said was right,” said Modi.

“Even I think that in the past ten years I have said a few bitter words against Manmohan Singh, and I was sorry about it, but now, it is clear that all the issues is because of one family, and that it was not the PM’s fault. The mother, son (Rahul Gandhi), daughter (Priyanka Gandhi) and her husband (Robert Vadra) under the supervision of the mother have ruined the country,” he said.

He also said that there was a need to put high resolution cameras in parliament now to find out in which corner the Congress was sitting.

“We will have to put high resolution cameras in the parliament now to know in which corner is the Congress sitting, as they might be visible only in a few corners, such is going to be their state. Till now just we were saying this, but now even their party people are revealing facts about them,” Modi said.

“A few people came to meet me in Gandhinagar; they did not come to ask for tickets or anything else but in my respect. They said I was the first one to respect our great leader Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and are making the world’s biggest statue in his honour,” he said. (ANI)
