Congress fully geared-up to face early polls: Uttam

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party was fully prepared to face early polls in the State.

He was speaking on the occasion of joining of Mangalpalli Sarpanch K. Ashok Goud of TDP, Ward Members and hundreds of other workers from Ibrahimpatnam mandal into the Congress party at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday. TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ranga Reddy DCC president Kayam Mallesh and other senior leaders were also present on the occasion.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the influx of leaders and activists of other political parties into the Congress party has begun and many top leaders of ruling TRS too would soon join the party. He said that the Congress party was all prepared to face early polls which are rumoured to be preponed to December this year. He said that the Congress party has placed nearly 11 lakh party workers, right from booth level to State, in active mode. He said all committees, up to booth levels in nearly 30,600 polling booths, would be in place soon.

The TPCC Chief said that the Leadership Development Mission in Reserved Constituencies (LDMRC), conceived by Congress president Rahul Gandhi and successfully implemented in Punjab and Gujarat elections, was giving good results in all 31 reserved seats in Telangana. He said that the concept would be replicated in many general constituencies across Telangana State. He said that all Congress workers would be given due importance and everyone will have a say in the party’s affairs. He said that the all the workers and leaders would work unitedly in complete coordination to win the next elections.

Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that the Congress party would launch the proposed bus yatra in the month of February. It is proposed to cover all 119 Assembly segments by covering 3-4 constituencies each day. After the first phase, the bus yatra may be halted for budget session of Legislative Assembly and Council and it would be resumed immediately after the session. He also announced that Congress president Rahul Gandhi may address public meetings at one or two locations during the bus yatra. A massive public meeting will also be held on June 2, the fourth Telangana Formation Day, to expose the failures of TRS Government.
The TPCC Chief claimed that the Congress party would win at least 70 seats if elections are held today. He said the Congress wave in Telangana would intensify further and the party would register a clean sweep in South Telangana.

Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the TRS has shattered the original dream of Telangana and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his family members took the new State into hostage. He said that KCR Rule has put the democracy in danger and the entire administration now revolves around KCR, his son KTR, daughter Kavitha and nephew Harish Rao. He said Mission Bhagaritha and Mission Kakatiya have proved to be major tools of corruption for TRS leadership and hundreds of crores of public money have been swindled by KCR family.

The TPCC chief said that the Congress party would expose the inefficiency, corruption and failures of TRS Government to deliver on its promises. He said all sections of society have been extending their support to the Congress party and it was all set to win elections in 2019 or even early polls. (NSS)
