Sambal: Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Jitendra Singh, on Thursday responded to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s barrage on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that the nation’s faith in the grand old party has diminished and that a ‘Congress-free’ India would soon be a reality.
“Congress has been rejected by the entire nation. I was in Assam recently and I found out that many of their MLA’s were keen on joining the BJP. No matter where, their own party workers are not satisfied with them,” Singh told the media here.
He asserted that BJP was the only party that believes in ‘inner party democracy’ and it does not work under a ‘family’ or a ‘dynasty’.
Training his guns on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s Jammu and Kashmir visit, the MoS PMO said that Rahul is unaware that the Congress, who was in power for almost ten years, is responsible for the problems he is blaming the BJP for.
“Rahul Gandhi’s trip need not even be mentioned. Someone needs to brief him that the core problems in Jammu and Kashmir are the doings of the Congress themselves. If this trip is his way of washing his sins then he should know that by visiting the areas and distracting the administration there is not the way to do it,” Singh said.
Rahul Gandhi had earlier today lashed out at the BJP for politicising his visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
“BJP says ‘Rahul Gandhi is on a tour’. For them, meeting the poor is a tour, when they meet industrialists its politics,” he said while a addressing a gathering in Baramulah.
The Congress vice president is on a two day visit to the J-K to interact with the victims of the Pakistan firing and visit the areas that have been most affected in the cross border shellings. (ANI)
