New Delhi, January 07: Congress appears to be in a fix over the issue of a separate Telangana with party leaders in Andhra Pradesh sharply divided in their opinions on regional lines.
To compound the problems, party leaders leaders from Telangana have said they are ready to quit their posts if the bill for formation of separate Telangana is not introduced in the budget session of Parliament.
At the AICC briefing, Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said “Srikrishna Commission has suggested six options.
Government is considering in detail all the options.
Government will consult all the concerned parties in the next meeting. It may consult the parties again and again and then take a decision. And the government is of party, so we will natuarlly stand by the government.”
A party leader on the condition of anonymity said that a decision on the issue will depend on how the issue unfolds in future.
