Congress party high command has finalised the first list of contestants for 42 assembly constituencies in Telangana region which will be officially announced either today or tomorrow. However the list has no Muslim name.
The party has decided to field Geeta Reddy from Zaheerabad, Sabita Indira Reddy from Maheshwaram and Nagendar from Khairiatabad. Priority is given to newly joined leaders of the party. A TDP MLA has joined Congress yesterday itself it has been decided to give him party ticket. Similarly a member of Telangana Joint Action Committee who has recently joined Congress has been included in the contestants list.
The first list includes almost all present members of the assembly however no Muslim leader is included in the list.
