Congress to field 7 Muslim candidates; today’s list include Hamdan, Osman al-Hajari

Hyderabad: Congress party has begun practical measures to increase Muslim representation in Telangana state assembly. As the first step, distribution of tickets to Muslim candidates has been undertaken and to ensure the victory of those Muslim candidates other leaders of the party are also being mobilized. Besides this, the Congress this time has also provided an opportunity for Muslims to prove their own mettle. Muslim candidates are also being given a chance in assembly constituencies in Hyderabad. Besides star campaigners of the party, film stars and senior secular leaders will also be roped in to campaign for them.

Out of the 90 seats Congress got in grand alliance the party gave 7 seats to Muslim candidates. Mohammed Ali Shabbir is being fielded from Kamareddy, Esa Misri from Chandrayangutta, Kaleemuddin Baba from Bahadurpura), Mohammed Ghouse from Charminar and Feroz Khan from Nampally. Names of Osman al-Hajari from Karwan and Tahir bin Hamdan from Nizamabad (urban) have been announced today
