Congress fears defeat in LS polls, has stopped campaigning: BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Anurag Thakur on Saturday said the Congress has accepted their defeat months before the nation goes for the general elections and added that the BJP will win a majority in the same.

Responding to queries on the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he said, “Anticipating their defeat, the Congress had stopped their campaigning in all four states. Similarly, months before the Lok Sabha polls, the Congress has accepted defeat and has stopped campaigning. The BJP is sure to win a majority in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.”

“Several leaders of the Congress have made statements, which are extremely shameful. A Himachal Pradesh minister has said that in a society where men and women are together, such incidents are likelyto happen. Another leader said these types of incidents are impossible to control,” he said.

“We have to change our thinking, and then only, the society and the country will change its thinking. There is a need to change mentality and give respect to women. Efforts should be made to stop these incidents,” he added. (ANI)
