Congress failed to counter opposition’s allegations, says Balaraju

Tribal Welfare P Balaraju on Sunday said that the Congress party has failed to counter the allegations of YSR Congress party over the implementation of welfare schemes in the State.

Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party after holding a review meeting with Primary Education Minister S Saijalanath and other leaders, Balaraju said that that the Congress party should organise a ‘Megha Madanam’ to review the reasons responsible for defeat of ruling party candidates in the by-elections. He said besides the failure to counter the allegations effectively, the party has failed to take the State and Central Government welfare schemes to the people’s door steps.

Describing defeat on 16 out of 18 seats as a big loss, Balaraju said that the party should be revived at district and village levels. He said the party should immediate fill the nominated posts with senior and dedicated leaders. He said that the Congress party’s old glory could be restored only if realises its mistake and take steps to rectify them. However, he hoped that the party would able to repeat the performance of 2004 and 2009 elections in 2014 general election.
