Congress demands probe into Alair encounter

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday reiterated the demand for CBI probe into the killing of five Muslim under trails at Alair of Nalgonda in an alleged encounter with the police on April 7.

Addressing a meeting organised by TPCC Minority Department at Basheerbagh Press Club here on Friday evening, Uttam Kumar Reddy said condemned the encounter and described it as fake. He alleged that the killing of five Muslim under trials was part of a larger conspiracy by the communal forces. He said that senior Congress leaders Digvijay Singh and S Jaipal Reddy have already demanded CBI probe into the encounter. He said AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, during his recent visit to Telangana, has enquired about the incident.

With naming MIM, Uttam Kumar Reddy said he was surprised at the silence of Hyderabad-based Muslim leadership which did not pressurise the TRS Government for a high level probe. He said that the SIT probe ordered by the government was an eye-wash.

TPCC Minority Department chairman Mohd Sirajuddin, Tahreek Muslim Shabban president Mohammed Mushtaq Mallik, TPCC Secretary Yousuf Hashmi and Nayeemullah Shareef also addressed the meeting. (INN)
