Bhopal, February 17: Leader of the Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh today demanded concession in fees for the candidates of reserved quota for Madhya Pradesh Patwari Recruitment Examination. ‘Examination fees have been fixed Rs 600 for the candidates belonging to the scheduled tribes and scheduled castes which is a violation of Reservation Act, 1994. Most of the candidates come from economically weaker section and they are unable to give the amount. Hence, concession should be provided to them,’ Mr Singh said in a statement here. Writing a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in this regard, Mr Singh pointed out that there has been a provision for relaxation of fees to SC, ST candidates under the Act. ‘On one hand, the state regime is providing stipends for the students of the reserved classes, on the other, the candidates are failing to give the examination fees. It shows the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s double standard,’ Mr Singh said.
