Congress demands 12% quota to Muslims – No poll tie-up with MIM: Uttam

Demanding that the State government implement 12% reservation to Minorities as assured during electioneering, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy has made it clear that there would be no alliance with the AIMIM in the ensuing GHMC elections.

The TPCC chief convened a meeting in Gandhi Bhavan with the Greater Hyderabad leaders on Sunday and discussed about the ensuing GHMC elections and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s tour in the State.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan later, Uttam said he would take a special program to infuse confidence among the settlers in the GHMC area. Stating that the party has decided to lodge a complaint with Governor ESL Narsimhan on defections encouraged by the TRS and TDP MLA Revanth Reddy’s ‘note-for-vote’ scam issue, Uttam demanded that the government order a CBI probe into the defections issue. He said there is a chance that Raul Gandhi might visit two Telugu States on June 29 and 30.
Stating that GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar was behaving unilaterally along with ruling party leaders with regard to division of Greater Hyderabad wards, he alleged that Somesh Kumar was behaving like a TRS agent. He expressed concern stating that division of wards was in favor of the MIM and TRS. (NSS)
