Congress’ demand of ban on PM’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ shows its frustration: BJP

New Delhi, Sept. 16 : Terming the Congress Party’s demand of a ban on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat, as absurd, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday said that it only shows that party’s frustration.

“This complaint in the Election Commission only shows the Congress Party’s frustration. I think they are very well aware that the Congress is not even a player in the Bihar election. Although it’s a part of the so called grand alliance, their complaint to the Election Commission is completely baseless,” BJP spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao told ANI.

“The programme ‘Mann ki Baat’ has been a very successful programme and the Prime Minister addresses issues concerning people, society and this is not a platform for advertising or campaigning,” he added.

Rao further said that this move of the Congress Party shows that it is acknowledging the supreme popularity of the Prime Minister and his radio broadcast.

The Congress Party approached the Election Commission today seeking a ban on the broadcast of Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, which is scheduled to be aired on Sunday.

According to reports, the Congress is citing the Model Code of Conduct, which is presently in place for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, as the reason for opposing the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. (ANI)
