Congress criticizes PM Modi over repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan

Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Sunday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops in the last three months, saying there is a is a huge gap in what the government says and does.
“He (Narendra Modi) calls the Prime Minister of Pakistan (Nawaz Sharif) to the oath-taking ceremony to increase his glamour, and the Pakistani Rangers are killing our soldiers on the border. So, there is a huge gap in what they say and do,” he said at an election rally in Kaithal.

Listing out the initiatives taken by the Congress for development of Haryana, Scindia said the UPA Government provided best price to the sugarcane farmers, established universities and technical institutes, and uplifted the overall status of the state.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda while addressing a rally in Faridabad said Prime Minister Modi has been campaigning aggressively in Haryana in order to make sure that Bhupinder Singh Hooda does not take over as the Chief Minister for the third consecutive term.

“He (Narendra Modi) is coming here several times. But why is he coming here so many times? He is coming here either from Delhi or Gujarat by taking flights and helicopters because he knows that if Congress comes to power in Haryana for the third time and if Bhupinder Singh Hooda takes oath becoming Haryana’s Chief Minister for the third time, then Delhi will be shaken. That’s why he is coming here several times,” he said.

He also criticized the BJP-led government at the Centre for increasing prices of rail fare, medicines and food items immediately after coming to power.

Haryana would go to polls on October 15 in a single phase to select 90 members of the state legislative assembly. The results for Haryana polls would be announced on October 19. (ANI)
