Congress Party has finalized the names of the MLCs to be nominated under Governor’s quota. Two candidates from Telangana and two candidates from Rayalaseema are expected to get the berths.
It is said that Mr. Fareeduddin and Mr. Sirajuddin may be nominated but this list could be changed at the 11th hour. The tenure of 4 members under Governor’s quota had ended 8 months back. Due to Telangana issue the nomination was kept pending.
After the visit of Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad to A.P. efforts have increased for these nominations. Mr. Azad sought explanation from APCC President Mr. B. Satyanarayana for keeping these 4 posts vacant for a such a long time. He has impressed the need to fill up other vacant posts also.
Reliable sources indicated that Congress Party has finalized the names of 4 MLCs taking two each from Telangana and Seema Andhra regions. The name of Chairperson of A.P. Mahila Congress Ms. A. Lalitha is on the top of the list. She also enjoys full support of former Congress President Mr. D.Srinivas.
