Congress Coordination Committee member and MLC D Srinivas on Tuesday said that both the Centre and the State Governments were committed for the welfare of labour and have been implementing various schemes and programmes for their upliftment.
Talking to media persons after hoisting INTUC flag at Gandhi Bhavan to mark the May Day celebrations, Srinivas said that the labour and workers would play a crucial role in the industrial development of the country. Expressing serious concern over the non-recognition of workers’ services in the industries, he said that the managements should make efforts for recognizing employees’ services and announce incentives and other sops to boost their morale. He appealed to all trade unions including INTUC to support the Congress party.
Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath, AICC secretary Ponguleti Sudhakar, Trade Union leaders and party workers were present in the programme. (INN)
