Former president of APCC Dharmapuri Srinivas has said that the Congress government in the State was committed to the uplift of the Minorities.
Ministers D. Manikya Varaprasada Rao, Syed Mohammed Ahamadulla, former minister Shabbir Ali, AICC observer K B Krishna Murthy and others participated in the PCC State-level Minorities meeting in Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday. Many minority Congress leaders from all parts of the State turned up for the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, former minister Shabbir Ali said that the recent ruling of the High Court on Muslim reservation in the OBC quota has nothing to do with reservation for Muslim minorities being implemented in the State.
AICC observer K B Krishna Murthy made it clear that the Congress party alone would protect the interests of the Muslim minorities in the State and Central levels.
