New Delhi: Extending warm wishes to President Pranab Mukherjee on his birthday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi today hailed him as an “inspiration” to people in public life whose passion for work and love for country is “exemplary”.
With prayers for a long and healthy life, Mrs Gandhi said, “Mukherjee is an inspiration for all who are in public life.”
“His passion for his work and love for country is exemplary,” she added.
Thanking him for the service to the nation in his long political journey and as the nation’s President, Mrs Gandhi wished him long and happy life ahead.
Born in West Bengal on December 11, 1935, Mr Mukherjee assumed office as the 13th President of India on July 25, 2012, crowning a political career of over five decades of exemplary service to the nation in government as well as Parliament
