Congress Chief Rahul authorized to constitute CWC ahead of Bypolls

New Delhi: The All India Congress Committee had authorized Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi to constitute the Congress Working Committee (CWC) in the party’s 84th plenary session held on Saturday.

Party Leader Ghulam Nabi said the election of CWC in Congress history has taken place for a couple of times now and most of the times it was left to Congress President to constitute the CWC.

But the recent resignations of Gujarat, UP and Goa PCC chiefs indicate towards the beginning of new change and that reshuffling of PCCs of Odisha, Bihar, Mumbai, Kerala, Haryana and UP are likely to happen soon, according to the insiders.

Ahead of Bypolls, BJP is strongly determined to replace Congress in Odisha with Congress keen on urging the high in command chief to remove PCC Chief PK Harichandan.

On the other hand, Rahul will have to rethink of removing Mumbai Regional Congress Chief Sanjay Nirupam since many Congress leaders are leading a non-cooperation movement against him, along with speculations swirling about the removal of AICC general secretary in-charge of the city and Maharashtra, Mohan Prakash.

Congress has successfully managed to fail oppositions strategy of stealing MLAs during the recent Rajya Sbaha elections now it seems a full-time PCC Chief will be appointed in Bihar, with Haryana expecting to get a new PCC chief as well as a CLP leader ET reports.
