“Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif held talks some days back, and it was decided that voice samples will be handed over. Even before 48 hours had elapsed after that, they turned back on it. It is clear that although Nawaz Sharif is Prime Minister, he is puppet of the army, he will do what the army says. With this, our foreign policy with regard to Pakistan has failed and it needs to be revisited,” Congress leader P.L Punia told ANI.
Earlier today, addressing the media in Islamabad earlier, Nawaz Sharif’s Foreign Advisor Sartaj Aziz had said that no formal dialogue would take place with India without Kashmir issue on agenda.
A joint media statement released after the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in Russia on Friday stated that both sides had decided to expedite the 26/11 Mumbai attacks trial, including additional information like providing voice samples.
The joint statement also said that both sides had agreed to hold a meeting in New Delhi between the two National Security Advisors to discuss all issues connected to terrorism. (ANI)
