New Delhi, January 22: The Congress senior leader and MP, Mr Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, has created flutters by stating that the Congress was a sinking boat.
The MP, who was annoyed at being not included in the Union Cabinet, has said that it was the duty of the party high command to save the Congress boat, which, he said, was sinking.
When asked if they would tell the party high command about the injustice done to Andhra Pradesh in the Cabinet expansion, he questioned why he should tell the party leaders. He said that it was the duty of the party leadership to know who was loyal to the party.
Mr Rao has lamented that no one had representation in the Union cabinet since 2009. “There are 22 MPs from the coastal districts. Are we not seniors?” he questioned.
Stating that senior MPs had no recognition in the party, he said that there was no use in trying to convince the party high command about the need to recognize their seniority and loyalty to the leadership. “What is the idea behind just giving one Cabinet post to the entire State?, he questioned and said this would cause problems to the party in future.
