Congress blames BJP for Jharkhand political scenario

New Delhi, June 01: With Jharkhand coming under the Central rule after political parties failed to form an alternative government, Congress today alleged that BJP’s lust for power led to the current situation.

The party also stressed the need for a democratically elected government in the state, but added it is not in a hurry to initiate fresh efforts for forming a government.

“BJP is responsible for the situation (Central rule) in the state due to their lust for power. Its insistence that the Chief Minister should be from that party pushed the state into this situation,” Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed told PTI.

“Though Congress believes that the best political arrangement is a democratically-elected government, it did not go for it because Congress-JVM (P) alliance did not have the requisite numbers,” he said.
