Congress should apologize to farmers for their sins: TRS

TRS MLC and spokesman Karne Prabhakar today lashed out at the Congress leaders for uttering “lies” and making meaningless criticism against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Addressing the media at TRS Legislature Party office here on Friday, Karne accused the Congress of indulging in false propaganda against the Chief Minister. He lashed out at former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy and MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for making vague comments against the Chief Minister. “The farmers will pardon the Congress leaders if they unconditionally apologize for their “sins of deceiving them” in the previous united State”, he said, adding that the Congress leaders were habituated to deceive farmers always, he deplored.

The TRS leader said KCR was trying to make agriculture as a lucrative activity by offering financial assistance of Rs 8,000 per acre for two crops a year, he claimed. The Opposition was making deliberate attempts to tarnish the image of Chief Minister, he charged. Karne also slammed the Congress and Telugu Desam Governments for deceiving the farmers in the combined State. The Congress leaders have no right to talk about the farmers’ welfare after dumping them during their regime, he said. He also said the Congress leaders are shedding “crocodile tears” on farmers issue.

Karne Prabhakar also excoriated Jaipal Reddy for his repeated lies and remarks against the Chief Minister and ridiculed Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for his demand for MSP for farm produce. The power-hungry Congress leaders are frustrated and indulging in cheap campaign against the government, he said. The State government was keen on preventing farmers from committing suicides and came with a unique plan to give them crop investment, he said.

The disbursement of financial assistance to farmers will begin next year and the Chief Minister will help the farmers to a great extent, Prabhakar stated. The TRS Government will go ahead with its plans of project redesigning to tap more waters for crops, he said. The TRS leader also found fault with Jaipal Reddy for not completing the project designing of Kalwakurty Lift project by 2014 though it was planned in 1981. The Congress has nor right to make such false allegations, he warned. (NSS)
