Congress alleges big scam in Water Grid scheme

Ridiculing the TRS government for stating that it was only 16-month old baby, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy asked how the tiny baby (TRS government) was indulging in corrupt practices.

 

Speaking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, Uttam demanded that the government waive off the crop loans of farmers at one go. Questioning the government for saying it has no budget for loan waiver scheme, he asked how it was spending huge sums on Water Grid scheme. He also alleged that corruption was taking place in the Water Grid scheme.

 

Making it clear that his party would not keep quiet if the government tried to slash the number of farmers suicides, the TNCC chief asserted that some 1,400 farmers committed suicides till date. He also said nobody has the information about the Rs 30,000- crore worth tender except Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and IT Minister K T Rama Rao. He reiterated that the TRS government conceived the Water Grid Scheme with an intention to get commissions worth thousands of crores of rupees. He also made it clear that the Congress would raise the Water Grid scheme scam in the Assembly. (NSS)
