Congress accuses TDP, TRS of wasting assembly session

Congress MLC MS Prabhakar on Sunday accused the Telugu Desam Party of not playing the role of a responsible opposition party during the monsoon session of the State Legislative Assembly.

Talking to reporters at his chambers in the Legislative Council here, Prabhakar alleged that instead of giving constructive suggestions, the main opposition TDP stalled the House on different issues and wasted precious time of the Legislative Assembly. He said that the State Government was ready to hold debate on power crisis and other issues. However, he said that it was primarily due to the non-cooperation of the TDP that the Legislative Assembly could not function.

Prabhakar also condemned the behaviour of Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLAs in the House. He said the TRS members have stalled the proceedings demanding Telangana resolution. He said several important issues including Fee Reimbursement, spread of viral fever and SC-ST Sub-Plan could not be discussed in the House due to the adamant attitude of the TRS.

The Congress MLC appealed to the people to review the performance and behaviour of their elected representatives in the House and teach them a fitting lesson during next elections.
