AICC secretary K B Krishna Murthy on Saturday accused YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy of imposing the by-elections in the State due to selfish interests.
Talking to media persons after emerging out of SC cell meeting at Gandhi Bhavan, Krishna Murthy said that it was unfortunate for the State to face by-elections due to the greediness of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He appealed to the Congress leaders to explain to the people the reasons that caused by-elections in the State. He said that the people of State would have to teach a fitting lesson to YSR Congress candidates, who are trying to destabilise the State Government, by voting in favour of Congress candidates.
Krishna Murthy appealed to party rank and file to take by-elections as challenge and make all efforts for the victory of Congress candidates.
Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana appealed to the party cadre not to lose confidence and work sincerely for the victory of aspirants in the elections. Admitting that the by-elections would be a litmus test for the party, he appealed to the party leaders to go to election campaign by taking government’s welfare schemes and development works.
Botsa said that the Dalit and minority leaders have a bright future in the Congress party and they would get suitable posts soon.
