Congolese president dismisses thousands for corruption

Congolese, January 06: President Joseph Kabila has sacked or forcibly retired nearly 3000 civil servants accused of corruption in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Congolese Budget Minister Michel Lokola on Tuesday that the move was part of the government’s campaign against corruption.

“The dismissal concerns any agent who has been involved in the bad management of public finances,” Lokola said.
