Congo national chased and beaten to death in South Delhi

New Delhi: A 29-year-old man from Congo was allegedly beaten to death by a group of men in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area, on Friday night, police said.

The foreign national, Masonda Ketada Olivier was on his way back home last night around 11:45 pm. He got into an argument with a group of locals, after which they chased him and attacked him with bricks and stones at Kishangadh locality.

The locals rescued Olivia and informed the police. He was rushed to the All India Institute for Medical Science (Aiims), where the doctors declared him dead.

In connection with his death Delhi Police have arrested one suspect. Olivier taught foreign languages at a private institute in the capital. The Embassy of Congo
has been informed about the incident.

Additional deputy commissioner of police (South), Nupur Prasad said. “A case of murder has been registered (against unknown persons). We are checking CCTV footage to identify the accused.”
