BJP national executive member Dr K Laxman has alleged that the Congress party was hatching a conspiracy to bury the Telangana sentiment by conducting panchayat elections indirectly.
Speaking to the media at its State office here on Thursday along with party official spokes persons N Kumar and Venkataramani, Laxman has alleged that the Congress party was trying to show that there was no Telangana sentiment in Telangana region by making their candidates win the elections conducting panchayat elections similar to ZPTC and MPTC elections. He said that the State party Affairs in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad’s remarks makes this clear. He called upon the people to reject the Congress party’s conspiracies. He alleged that the Congress party deceived the Telangana people with its betrayal assurances and fake talks and asked the people to defeat it in the ensuing local body elections. He said that creation of separate Telangana State was not possible with the defeat of Congress party but the people have to ensure the victory of BJP which is a national party, and which is in a position to carve out separate State.
He said that it seems the panchayat elections may be held with several loopholes and said that the State Election Commission was trying to conduct the local body elections on the basis of the 2001 Censes, which will do injustice to the SCs and STs. He also alleged that the BCs will be at receiving end as the election commission providing reservations to the EBCs. He demanded the government not to provide political reservations to the EBCs.
He alleged that both left parties CPI and CPM, which extended support to the UPA-I government, were equally responsible on par with the Congress party for not creating separate Telangana State. He also said that the TRS was also indirectly responsible to it. He said that there was a chance that the Congress party may go to the people to ask votes in the ensuing local body elections and general elections showing BJP as a villain (Boochi). He alleged that so called secularists may unite in the name of secularism and they may obstruct the creation of separate Telangana State.
He said that his party was not against the peoples’ organizations and institutions which were working for the sake of separate Telangana State but his party was against the parties which were trying to grab the votes in the name of Telangana sentiment. He made it clear that the BJP will contest the elections alone in the local body and general elections.
He said that the Telangana people who were living in America were showing strong desire for the creation of separate Telangana State. He said that they wants to see Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of the nation by defeating the UPA government. He said that the strong weapon was in the hands of Telangana people and that is vote whether to create separate Telangana State are to bring the BJP to power at Centre. He advised the youth that there was no need of suicides and only need was to ensure the victory of BJP.
Laxman said that the BJP national Executive Committee meetings will be held for three days at Goa from June 7. He said that on first day ‘padadikarula’ meeting will be held. Executive committee meeting will be held on second and third day. He said that the meeting will discuss political situation in the country, national security and national economic situation and other issues. (NSS)
