Cong, TDP are sinking boats: YSR Cong

The YSR Congress today described the Congress and TDP as sinking boats which were rejected by the people of Telangana and Coastal Andhra in the just concluded by-elections to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. Talking to reporters here, Party Official Spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said the bravado of TDP saying the party could at least field a candidate and campaign in Telangana and Congress stating they had fared better than the main opposition showed the two parties had been fast losing their sheen.

He said since 2009, TDP had contested 22 Assembly and one Parliament seat and lost deposit in 18 places and in the just concluded by-polls, the Congress and TDP lost their seats to other parties. Taking strong objection to the language and baseless allegations levelled by TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu and State Congress President Botsa Satyanarayana against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the Party, he said the two parties should account for the huge amount spent during the Kovur by-polls. Ridiculing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Mr Botsa for owning moral responsibility for the electoral debacle, he said it was not enough. Instead, they should quit their posts. When asked about the Health Minister D L Ravindra Reddy’s resignation letter sent to AICC President Sonia Gandhi, he said ‘it is the internal matter of the Congress Party’. UNI
