Kokrajhar, February 14: The ruling Congress in Assam will support the Bodo People’s Front (BPF), the ally in the state cabinet, in the ensuing Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) election scheduled next April.
“Congress will support the BPF headed by BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary in the council election,” government spokesman and senior minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on the occasion of the third annual conference of the BPF here.
There will be seat sharing and friendly contest between the Congress and the BPF, Sarma said and appealed to the people to support the two parties in the election.
