Cong set to lose Maha polls, but ex-CM Chavan leads

Even as Congress is staring at a defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, former state Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan is leading from Karad South by a slender margin of 1,799 votes.

Chavan, who is pitted against Congress rebel and sitting MLA Vilaskaka Patil Undalkar, polled 10,863 votes till 10.30 AM.

In Muktainagar constituency, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Eknath Khadse (BJP) was leading by a margin of 3,162 votes.
