Hyderabad, January 27 (INN): Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana on Thursday held the rivalries within the Congress party responsible for the desecration of Dr B R Ambedkar’s statues in Amalapuram in East Godavari district.
Talking to media persons after hoisting the national flag at party office in Makhdhoom Bhavan to mark 63rd Republic Day celebrations, Narayana slammed the state government for not initiating action against those responsible for the incident. He alleged that the government did not take the incident seriously.
Narayana demanded that the government take effective measures to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
Regarding Telangana, he said that statehood for the region could be achieved if all parties make sincere and concerted efforts. If the parties and leaders remain divided on the issue, the state formation will be delayed further, he pointed out. (INN)
