Madhya Pradesh Congress today said it would raise the issue of “forcible acquisition” of farmers’ land by the state government during the coming winter session of the Assembly.
“The government was using forcible and repressive tactics to acquire land from farmers,” Leader of Opposition in
Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh alleged in a statement after a meeting of the Congress Legislative Party.
According to him, farmers were neither getting proper compensation for their costly land, nor relief and
rehabilitation rules were being followed. He said his party would expose the vested interests behind it.
The legislature party meeting was held under his chairmanship to discuss the issues that the party would raise
during the Assembly winter session.
