New Delhi, November 18: Congress today said Rahul Gandhi has no attachment for posts after the AICC general secretary in Vijaywada asked people not to consider him as the future prime minister, saying nobody could predict the future.
“Had Rahulji been having any attachment for posts, would he have not become a minister long time back?” was what party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said when asked to comment on Gandhi’s statement. He added that Gandhi was not after posts.
Interacting with about 1,500 students at a college in Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh today, Gandhi said, “please don’t consider me as the future prime minister. Nobody can predict the future and what lies in store. Anybody can become the prime minister.”
Rahul was reacting when some students referred to him as the future prime minister. He said current Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was doing a good job.
