Congress today protested against government’s ‘non-action to control’ the price of the onions and sold the commodity for Rs 40 per kg against the current rate of Rs 70-80 in the state.
The party held a camp at Malvia Nagar area here and sold onions on wholesale rate.
PCC Vice President Archana Sharma informed that 1,000 kg onion was purchased by the party at Rs 40 per kg, and was sold at the same price.
The initiative was taken as a protest against the government’s non-action to control the price and to provide relief to people, she said.
PCC President Sachin Pilot also targeted the government over inflation and said that there was no action on hoarding that is leading to the price rise.
