Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has taken objection to Shiv Sena working president Uddhav Thackeray’s media interaction at the Vidhan Bhavan premises after his meeting with Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan yesterday.
In a letter to Assembly Speaker Dilip Walse-Patil and chairman of Legislative Council Shivajirao Deshmukh, MPCC
spokesman Sachin Sawant demanded action against the Sena leader.
By speaking to the press within the Assembly premises, he has violated the directive principles of preserving dignity of the institution,” Sawant said in the letter.
Uddhav is not a member of either house of the state legislature.
He, with a Shiv Sena delegation, met Chavan yesterday to condemn the state’s failure to nab the thieves who stole the
Ganesh idol in Dive-Agaar in Konkan region. He also demanded that a law be enacted to make it mandatory for all agencies working in Mumbai to seek permission of and consult the Mumbai municipal corporation before executing development works.
