Cong. MPs reject request to allow LS to function

Congress MPs from the Telangana region have rejected the requests of Union Minister Sharad Pawar and Pawan Kumar Bhansal to allow Lok Sabha to function normally.

Talking to the media, Congress MPs said that the two Union ministers have requested them to allow the House to function normally, but they had made it clear that they would obstruct the proceedings until a debate on Telangana was taken up. They also demanded that the Union government abide by its announcement on creation of Telangana State made on December 9 of 2009 and concede statehood for the region.

The Congress MPs extended their support to the TRS-sponsored Telangana Bandh on Tuesday. MPs Ponnam Prabhakar, Gutta Sukhender Reddy, G Vinod, Manda Jagannatham and others spoke to the media. (NSS)
