Congress leader Mr. Khaleequr Rahman welcomed the formation of 10 member ministerial committee to review party defeat and other issues but showed apprehensions over not including a Muslim minister in it. He demanded chief minister and Pradesh Congress president to include Minority Welfare minister in the committee, to review the problems of minorities in general and Muslims in particular.
He claimed that minorities are the backbone of Congress they have played a significant role in the success of Congress from 2004 to 2009. The Congress needs to allay the disappointment minorities have with the Congress, or else Congress may lose minority support.
