Cong leaders stage dharna at Nampally X road

Demanding that the TRS government withdraw the decision taken by the State government to hike the bus fares and power tariffs, Congress party staged a dharna at Nampally Crossroads here on Saturday. Congress senior leaders D Sridhar Babu, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Gandra Venkataramana Reddy and others participated in the dharna.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress leaders lashed out at the TRS government for increasing the bus fares and power tariffs and demanded that the government withdraw the decision taken by the government in this regard. They warned the TRS government saying that they will intensify their agitation along with other political parties. They asked the State government to say whether “Bangaru Telangana” means encouraging party defections and increasing bus fares and power tariffs.

The vehicular traffic stalled for some time due to Congress leaders’ dharna. The police rushed to the  spot and shifted them  leaders to Goshamahal police station and released later. In LB Nagar, former MLA Devireddy Sudhir Reddy, MP KM Khan, former PCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah, former Union Minister Sarve Sathyanarayana, former ministers Prasada Kumar, former MLAs Koona Srisailam Goud, Bikshapathi Yadav, K Laxma Reddy, Rangareddy leaders—Kyama Mallesh, B Laxma Reddy, Kandhiganti Sridhar, Youth Congress vice-president Ravi Kumar Yadav, Guduru Narayana Reddy and others participated in the dharna.
