Expressing solidarity with the RTC workers’ strike on behalf of Congress party, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar and Mallu Ravi on Thursday said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao should own responsibility for the RTC men’s strike.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, the Congress leaders said the Chief Minister ought to fulfill his assurance given to the RTC employees that his government would pay salaries on par with government employees. “It is not proper to the Chief Minister to threaten the RTC employees saying that ESMA will be enforced against the striking employees instead of conceding the justified demands of RTC workers”, they said.
Both Ponnam Prabhakar and Mallu Ravi demanded that the government resolve the RTC workers’ demands keeping in view the hardships of the common man if the 108 employees also go on strike. (NSS)
