Mahbubnagar, November 28: Telangana Nagara Samithi president Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Sunday faulted the Telangana Congress leaders for not making united efforts towards achieving the separate Telangana state.
Talking to media persons, Nagam said that the Congress leaders have totally failed in pressing the high command to introduce a bill on Telangana state in the Parliament. Though all leaders, cutting across party lines, got united during the general strike of employees and mounted pressure on the government, he said that the Congress leaders failed to make concrete efforts towards bifurcation of state.
“The Congress leadership have failed to react over the Telangana state formation even after the beginning of winter session of Parliament,” Nagam said while demanding that the Centre should change its attitude at least now introduce the Telangana Bill to respect the sentiments and aspirations of people in the region. If the government fails to introduce a bill on Telangana during winter session, Nagam threatened to stage a massive dharna on December 5 at Nagarkurnool.
Nagam also took serious note on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy spending money on the Rachabanda programme. Except for wasting public money and promoting the Congress party, the Rachabanda programme was not serving any purpose. He demanded that the Congress party bear the burden of expenditure incurred on Rachabanda programme.
