President Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Captain Uttam Kumar Reddy said that KCR had promised to provide 12 percent reservations to Muslim within 4 months of coming to power, however he did not fulfil his promise even after 24 months. He advised party leaders and members to run state-wide campaign for Muslim reservations.
Lauding the power point presentation on Muslim reservation presented by leader of opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Mr. Reddy said that Muslims are educationally, economically and socially backward. He further said that Congress party after minutely evaluating the situation, promised to provide 5 percent reservations to Muslims in the election manifesto of 2004 and implemented it within two months of coming to power. After going to legal complications Muslims are benefiting from 4 pc Muslim reservations.
