Former Government Whip in the State Legislative Council Y Shivaram Reddy on Thursday condemned TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for getting closer to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Speaking to media persons here, Shivaram Reddy said that Naidu was going back on his words of not aligning with the BJP in future. He reminded that Naidu had demanded removal of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi from the post after the communal riots in 2002. However, the same TDP chief is now trying to support the candidature of Modi for the post of Prime Minister.
Stating that TDP leader P Keshava had indicated of a possible alliance with the BJP, Shivaram Reddy asked Naidu to prove his secular credentials. He also condemned Keshava’s reported demand asking YSR Congress Party to give an affidavit saying that it would not align with the Congress party in future. He said that the demand was ridiculous, especially when the TDP itself was trying to join hands with the BJP. He alleged that Naidu could go to any extent to come to power. (INN)
