Cong HC unhappy with by-polls outcome: Rayapati

Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao on Sunday said that the Congress High Command was unhappy with the poor performance of party in the recent by-elections.

Talking to media persons after having the darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga Ammavar at Indrakeeladri Hills, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said that the high command was very serious about the recent drubbing of party by the YSR Congress party and sought explanation from both Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana. He said that the high command would initiate steps to prevent further erosion of party rank and file once the election for the President of India concludes.

Stating that the party’s position in the State was very pathetic, he said that as part of refurbishing the party image, the High Command might remove Kiran Kumar Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana from their posts. “The high command has to take concrete steps to boost cadre’s morale and utilize the services of senior leaders in a proper manner,” he said.

“The high command will initiate drastic measures to improve party’s image apart from taking serious action on dissidents and party violators,” he said.

The MP also announced that he would donate one kilogram of gold for Punyakoti Vimanam of Goddess Kanaka Durga.
