Mhow (MP), April 14: The BJP today said Congress has not done justice to the architect of the Constitution, Dr B R Ambedkar in its 50 years of rule and accused it of treating dalits merely as a votebank.
Addressing a ‘Mahakumbh’ organised here, the birth place of Ambedkar, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu alleged, “after Independence, power remained in the hands of one single party and a family, but it failed to do justice to Ambedkar’s historic contribution in the field of social harmony.”
“They (Congress) took a long time in awarding Bharat Ratna to the messiah of dalits and even installed the portrait of Ambedkar in the Parliament after 50 years,” he said on the occasion of Ambedkar’s 119th birth anniversary.
