Hyderabad, January 24: The TDP President, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Monday alleged that the Congress Party and its government in the State have been encouraging criminals for its vested interests.
Mr Naidu paid tributes to TDP former MLA late Paritala Ravi at NTR Trust Bhavan on his sixth death anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, the TDP Chief alleged that the earlier TDP Government had made an effort to identify the criminals involved in the killing of Paritala Ravi at TDP Office of Ananthapur. Referring to the killing to Moddu Srinu, Maddileti Suryanarayana (Suri) and a government doctor, he said that those who were accused and had links with the case, were eliminated one by one. Earlier, the Government has posted a police official as Inspector General of Rayalassema region to carry out the plan of elimination of Ravi. Caming to know it, the TDP has strongly opposed his posting to the region, he reminded.
He pointed out that the TDP has presented representation to the President of India and Prime Minister, Governor requesting necessary security to Ravi, and expressed concern over the possible life threat to the party MLA.. But the government paid a deaf ear to them, he regretted.
Reminding that the hand of Mr Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, son of the then Chief Minister, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, was also suspected in the killing of the TDP legislator, Mr Chandrababu Naidu said that the CBI team, which was investigating the case, went to his residence instead of calling him to the office to quiz him. The CBI gave clean chit to Mr Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the case, he pointed out.
Referring to the recent incidents, the TDP supremo said that a person named Masthan Rao committed suicide unable to bear the harassment of Rayalaseema settlement gang. The name of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was also mentioned in the suicide note of Masthan Rao. The suspected links between Bhanu, accused in the killing of Suri, and the son of Home Minister, Mrs Sabitha Indra Reddy, was an alarming one. All these factors were best examples of law and order situation prevailing in the State.
Mr naidu said Paritala Ravi was still alive in the hearts of the people of Ananthapuram district. The TDP former MP, Mr Erranaidu and others were also present.
