Congress MLC M Ranga Reddy on Monday dismissed the allegations of TRS leaders wherein they accused previous Congress regime of neglecting the Osmania General Hospital.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Ranga Reddy said that the previous Congress Government has allocated Rs. 200 crore for the renovation and maintenance of OGH while appointing Gopala Krishna Committee to seek expert advise. The Committee had recommended renovation and did not recommend its demolition. However, the proposal could not be implemented due to Telangana agitation, he said.
Ranga Reddy alleged that by proposing to demolish the OGH building, TRS Government is trying to wipe out Hyderabad’s heritage from the city’s map. He said that the Congress would oppose the move by all means. He reminded that major projects like Nagarjuna Sagar, Pranahita-Chevella, Metro Rail, Outer Ring Road, Krishna and Godavari drinking water projects were all started during the Congress regime. Therefore, he said TRS leaders should learn the facts before commenting on Congress party.
The Congress leader also accused TRS of deviating from its manifesto. He said that the TRS Government did not implement any of the promises that it made with the people including 12% Muslim reservation and KG to PG free education among others. He expressed confidence that the Congress party would return to power in 2019 elections. (INN)
